- At
the end of each match, players must maintain
the final screens and wait for a referee to
confirm the result.
- “FIFA
08” tournament consists of two phases:
1) First phase: Knock Out structure (best 2
out of 3 matches); 2) a second phase:
The first 8/16/32 players from
the first phase will be qualified to a final
round based on knockouts (best 2
out of 3 matches).
First phase
-
The First phase of the
tournament shall consist in a single
elimination tournament. The first player to
win two out of three games wins the match.
-
Team
selection: national teams & club teams may
be selected by the players. The players are
allowed to choose the same team in the
competition.
-
The host and client for each match will be
decided by a coin toss.
- The
second phase of the tournament shall consist
in a single elimination tournament. The
first player to win two out of three games
wins the match.
- If,
after 90 minutes, the game ends in a draw,
extra time of twice 15 minutes shall be
played. If the score is level after extra
time, penalty kicks shall be taken to
determine the winner of each game.

Before “game 1”, a coin toss shall determine
which player gets the right to choose the
team or the right to host the match.
- For
“game 2”, the right to choose the team or to
host the match belongs to the player that
lost the coin toss for “game 1”.

Before “game 3” (if needed), a coin toss
shall determine which player gets the right
to choose the team or the right to host the
match.
-
Therefore, if “player A” wins the toss and
chooses Italy for “game 1”, then player B”
cannot choose Italy as a team for “game 1”.
“Player B” may however choose to play with
Italy in “game 2”.
- Also,
if the player winning the toss chooses the
team, the player losing the toss has the
right to choose whether to host the match or
not.
- In
case of tie in choosing
the best 8/16/32 players
to qualify to the 2nd phase:
Only the 2 winning matches of the best will be
calculated and then we will choose
according to the following:
Criteria of
choosing best players:
1- The more
goals out
2- The fewer
goals In
3- Clean
sheet (Less yellow cards – Less Red cards)
4- Rest of
statistics.
- If
any player resigned the match score will be
2:0.
Second phase
- The
Second phase of the tournament will be the
first 8/16/32 players

After
applying the above-mentioned rules and
shall consist in a single elimination
tournament. The first player to win two out
of three games wins the match.

choose whether to host the match or not

The winner will attend the World Cyber Games
finals in Germany 08 including all travel and
accommodation expenses.

must check the options being used before
they begin their match. Once the match has
begun, the match result will be accepted
even if the players discover that each
others' settings were not in accordance with
the rules.

All game pads

Should a player
need to install a driver for his game pad or
keyboard, he must do so with the assistance
of a referee.

Should a player
needs to modify the “devdata.dat” file, he
must do so with the assistance of a referee.
Disconnections
-
Should a
disconnection occur:
1) A
referee will confirm the exact score to that
point, and restart the match.
2) A
referee will inform the players on exactly
how many minutes must still be played in
order to complete the match.
3) Any
players sent off the field (red card) shall
count as a goal each for the opponent when
the match resumes.

Intentional
disconnection: upon judgment by the referee,
any offending player will be charged with a
loss and a possible disqualification from
the tournament.
Unfair play
-
Upon discovery
of any player committing any violations
regarded as unfair play, that player may be
warned, sanctioned
with a loss or, in worst cases, disqualified
from the tournament.
-
Here are a few
examples of actions considered “unfair
play”:
1)
Use of any cheat program;
2)
Intentional disconnection;
3) Use of
any settings that do not comply with the
permitted settings;
4)
If a player is found to be intentionally
delaying the game time by passing the
ball around, he
may be given a warning or lose by default at
the referee's discretion;
5)
Getting up from one’s chair without prior
consent by a referee;
6)
Not kicking the ball out of bounds after
having made any changes to one’s team;
7)
Not using the “FIFAbot” when hosting a
match.
8)
Not completing one’s group matches;
9)
Being late for one’s match
10) Leaving the
tournament area without the referee’s
permission

During the
course of the tournament, the operations
staff and/or referee may determine other
actions to be considered “unfair play”
issuing a warning or a direct
disqualification.
-
In any case,
two warnings shall lead to the
disqualification from the tournament.
